Why Choose Benfield Fire Safety's in-person, hands-on Fire Safety Awareness Training for Carers?
- In a care environment, it is highly likely your Fire Evacuation Emergency Plan (FEEP) requires that your staff to use fire extinguishers, then you must train staff in the use of such portable firefighting aids. Our in-person training includes the practical use of Fire Extinguishers – an important element to help empower your staff to act in event of a real fire.
- Our instructors (all former fire service officers with 30 years’ experience), can also tailor the Fire Safety Awareness Training for Carers to talk about specific risk factors for your care premises type and risks specific to your workplace. We believe that training in their own care premises enables your staff to relate to the training more easily and thus make them more likely to act effectively in the event of an emergency.
- We come to you - No need for your staff to travel.
- Theory - Our experienced instructors create a friendly and inclusive learning environment to deliver an engaging theory lesson. They will give your staff the opportunity to ask questions about the risk in their specific workplace and relating to their specific day-to-day roles.
- Practical - Hands-on practical fire extinguisher and fire blanket use for every participant. Choose from either OUTDOOR (live flame/gas) or INDOOR (laser/ digital) simulators. For care premises, the INDOOR simulator is a great choice as real-life fire scenarios can be created (such as in a bedroom). Smoke goggles can also be added so that staff can appreciate as realistic as possible what a real-life situation may feel like.
- This training is specifically tailored to educate carers on appropriate action relating to high risk rooms in a care setting (such as laundry/kitchen areas).
- Certificate of competence for every candidate.
