Your FEEP (Fire Emergency Evacuation Plan)
Your FEEP is a written document that outlines the intended and adopted procedures to be implemented and followed by occupants within the premises, and the arrangements required for calling the Fire Service, in the event of a fire.
The FEEP can include any relevant information to be read and understood by staff BEFORE any emergency occurs. This document will also need to be passed to the Fire Service upon their arrival at your premises in the event of a fire, (and may contain relevant information that could be critical to the safety of those attending).
Your Fire Safety Policy should include, but is not limited to:
- Who is the Responsible Person.
- How Fire Marshals will be identified.
- What an individual should do on discovering a fire.
- How vulnerable people should be evacuated.
- Your plan must include key staff members who are trained and able to assist in the evacuation of vulnerable people.
- Who the Fire Marshals are.
- What to do when the fire alarm sounds.
- Where fire fighting equipment is located.
- How the building is to be evacuated, (Your evacuation strategy implemented for your premises).
- Details of escape routes.
- Where assembly points are.
- Where the fire grab bag is! Key staff should already be familiar with its content.
- Laminated layout plans to be passed to the fire service (these plans should include information such as key service isolation locations i.e gas meter isolation point, electrical fuse boards, solar panel isolations etc and the location of any hazards in the premises).
Requirements for FEEP Service
To enable us to draft your FEEP, you will need to provide us with your Fire Risk Assessment, Fire Safety Policy and any other relevant information you have in place. We may also need to visit your premises in order to complete the FEEP.
