Aster Care Ltd is a Portsmouth-based agency that provides 24 hour nursing care to people with long-term health conditions. Their team of clinically trained care workers deliver this in people’s own homes as a viable alternative to going to a nursing home.

Our Fire Training Approach And Solution
Following a free audit of Aster Care’s fire safety procedures it was identified that they required fire extinguisher training.
Our fire extinguisher training includes understanding which extinguisher to use on different types of fire, judging whether it is safe to tackle the fire and practical use of extinguishers.
The training for Aster Care was carried out during COVID-19. We used their garden area to socially-distance and follow COVID-safe procedures to cover both the theory and practical elements of the course. This included using our gas rig to create a controlled fire on which the team could practice techniques for using each type of extinguisher.
